On glennon Doyle’s podcast she spoke about building relationships and used the metaphor about taking a road trip which helped me massively. She explained that to her friendship is like when you have planned you a trip, you have bought the snacks, made a playlist, then you friend messages you from the airport to say they have already arrived and that they flew. When we tell people our struggles after we have gone through them it’s like us ignoring the journey and telling someone we have already arrived. This has helped me massively stop feeling like a burden, but it is still there sometimes.
