Book of the Month: The Yearbook By Holly Bourne
As some of you will know, Holly Bourne is one of my favourite fiction authors and this book has been on my To-Be-Read list longer than I would have liked it to be! I started reading it and then I weirdly, lost the book. Recently I was having a clearout of my To-Be-Read list and I found it buried behind all the other ones so I could leave it no longer. I genuinely believe Holly Bourne will be to younger generations what Jacqueline Wilson was to my generation. This book explores such important issues that very rarely get given the green light in Young Adult books. Holly has earned her stripes though and as a result, she is trusted to write about these topics in a sensitive way and that makes me SO happy because these books need to exist and these stories need to be on the library bookshelves for those who are living a tougher reality in their childhood. I would be sad about being fully caught up on all of Holly’s books but thankfully she has a new one coming out soon called You Could Be So Pretty!
