TV Show of the Month: White Lotus

I know, I know… I’m late to this one but only because episode 1 of season 1 was just so ORANGE. Yes, you heard me right! They had this sepia filter on that just made it look weird and the first episode was slow so the boyfriend and I put it away until four more friends of ours nagged us to give it another go - and they were right! I think what I find fascinating about this series is how complex and unapologetically unlikeable some of the characters are. The characters are just so rich and full of personal stories and I love getting to know each person as the series goes. I also think what sets it apart from other series is that it unashamedly leaves each season with unanswered questions but not in the way it’s a cliffhanger, because they make no attempt at answering them. The way I see it is you get to meet these people in a snippet of their lives and the next season (mostly!) moves on to a new group of people to meet!
