Restaurant of the Month: Din Tai Fung

This is my favourite Dim Sum place in London. It is a chain that originated in Taiwan and it’s most known for Xiao Long Bao, its Shanghainese soup dumplings. One caveat is that you need to go to the Covent Garden one. This has been my favourite place since it opened and I had only ever been to the Covent Garden branch until I was planning a date night and the only place that had space was the Selfridges branch so imagine my disappointment when I finally take my boyfriend to this place that I’ve been talking about for a year and it’s underwhelming and we were pushed out of there so quickly that we both left with indigestion. I have since returned to the Covent Garden branch and I realised it still is the best and my favourite but I will only stick to this branch now. I know it’s known for its Xiao Long Bao but the dish I would actually say is a must-try is its Pork & Vegetable wontons in spicy sauce. This is a dish that is so hard to find over here and it’s perfection! Oh and also their fried rice is one of the best, just don’t bother with the pork chop on top - get it plain!
